Nowadays, social practice has been brought to great concern among colleges and universities increasingly. During summer or winter holiday, college students are encouraged and organized to participate in all kinds of social practice activities, such as part-time jobs, volunteering teaching and fieldwork.
There is no doubt that students can benefit a lot from social practice activities. First, they are provided with more chances and opportunities to contact with our real society and broaden their horizon. Second, it is a good chance for them to apply their theory knowledge to practice and improve their ability. Third, students can enjoy the happiness of work and realize their value.

However, there are also some things needed to be noticed in the process of taking part in social practice activities. For example, students should take care of themselves well and interchange labor and repose during the work. In addition, they should not ignore their studies when they are working.

On Spring Festival, my parents usually take me back to my hometown. My hometown is a small town. Many of my relatives move to the larger cities, but we usually go home when the Spring Festival comes. During the gathering, we share our lives with others and care about each other. Of course, big meals are necessary. Families prepare for the big meals together. They all cook their specialty dishes.

Part I Reading Comprehension (30%)
Directions: There are three passages in this part. Each passage is followed by some questions or unfinished statements. For each of them there are four choices marked A, B, C and D, You should decide on the best choice and blacken the corresponding letter on the Answer Sheet.
Passage 1
Questions 1 to 5 are based on the following passage:
Babies who are breast-fed may be more likely to be successful in life, a new study published Tuesday suggests. The study followed more than 3,000 babies into adulthood in Brazil. The researchers found those who were breast-fed scored slightly higher in intelligence tests in their 30s, stayed in school longer and earned more money than those who were given formula(配方奶粉).
“Breast-feeding not only has short-term benefits, but also breast-feeding has long-term benefits, “says Bernardo Lessa Horta of the Federal University of Pelotas in Brazil, who led the study being published in The Lancet Global Health.
(76) Doctors have long known that breast-feeding can be good for a baby's health. This is especially true in poor countries, where water can be contaminated. For instance, a baby given formula in developing countries is 14 times more likely to die in the first six months than one who's breast-fed. In the U.S., some research has suggested that breast-feeding may raise a baby's IQ(智商)by a few points. But a recent study with siblings(兄弟姐妹)found little advantage to breast-feeding.
Horta says these previous studies didn't follow children into adulthood to see if breast-feeding had long-term effects. So Horta analyzed data collected from 3,493 volunteers he and his colleagues have been following since birth. They are now in their 30s. First, the researchers gave the subjects IQ tests. Those who were breast-fed for 12 months or more had IQ test scores that were 3.76 points higher than those who were breast-fed for less than one month, the team found.
When Horta and his colleagues looked at how much education the subjects had gotten and how much money they were making, they also found a clear difference: Those who were breast-fed the longest stayed in school for about an extra year and had monthly salaries that were about a third higher.

Have you thought of which traits we should be looking for? I'd like to hear your suggestions. Yes, according to psychological research, generally speaking, the traits most necessary for interpersonal success are honesty, dependability, tolerance, cooperativeness, and perseverance, and in the professional world particularly, vision, competency, fair-mindedness, and punctuality are important. Those are good qualities that we would want in every employee .
Now, perhaps we should discuss virtues needed in a director. What do you want to tell me in this respect? Some of my acquaintances have accumulated quite a lot of experience in the international business that enables them to make valuable suggestions. So I have talked to them for this matter. Oh have you? What did they say? According to them, a desirable director is humble, diplomatic and flexible but well-educated and experienced. He should also be concerned, and even generous.
Absolutely! Now, would you address character description for the Commercial and Industrial Arts staff? You used to operate a vocational school, so your experience must have given you many ideas. In addition to those general assets, our school should seek practical leaders who are skillful and diligent. The best ones are also creative but modest, clever but humble. There are a number of other positions to consider. We have done good work so far. We can discuss the remaining items after lunch.

Dear Mary,
Cook something that would let you spend time with your guests,If a guest offers to help you in the kitchen, accept the offer. It often makes people feel more comfortable when they can help.
Before serving dinner, while your guests make small talks in the living room, offer them drinks. Some guests may like wine, but make sure to provide soft drinks for people who don’t.
At the dinner table, let your guests serve themselves. Offer them a second serving after they finish, but don’t ask more than once. Most guests will take more if they want.
Perhaps the most important rule of all is to be natural. Treat your guests as you want them to treat you when you’re in their home—that is,act naturally toward them, and don’t try too hard to be polite. Have a good time in a pleasant atmosphere.

I have a good suggestion for you . These shirts are better to be packaged and shipped with cartons rather than wooden cases . Carton enjoys many advantages such as being light and lower cost . We have also used cartons to package shirts when trading with other American companies recently and the result was quite good .
Looking forward to your reply as soon as possible .
Sincerely yours ,
Wang Hai
